宋‧俞文豹《清夜錄》引宋人蘇麟詩：「近水樓臺先得月，向陽花木易為春。」後用「近水樓臺」比喻所處環境便利或條件優越而先得到好處。例「張先生憑著近水樓臺，知根知底，不久就贏得了鄰居李小姐的芳心」。
